The examinacion of Bran Birne of Kilteman in the Cownty of wicklowe gentleman taken before me Thomas Wakefield Esquire Maiore of the Citty of Dublin the 27o November 1641
Whoe beinge demaunded att what tyme he was in the Company of Luke Birne he saieth that he was not in his Company this <P> 3 or 4 years past to his knowledge, & saieth that about 4 or 5 wicks past he went to the Contry to his owne howse & there staid the matter of a ffortnight & from thence went to Shilely to the buryall of a broth in lawe of his & Came from thence to dublin a fortnight of to morrowe & this day went to Archbould of Knocklin to take a Castle at Jobstowne & become his Tenant for a quarter of a yeare during in [ regarde ] of this trouble & ffurther saieth that a Brother of his owne & Luke Birne Luke Toole Redmond mc Pheagh & diuers others are out in Rebellion & ffurther saieth not beinge demanded <Q> Whether he was of Late in an howse in Agherum he saieth that going to his brothers buryall he came there to a widowes howse in daie tyme in company with his Brother & his Brothers man & his sonnes & there did drinke & parted & saieth that Luke Birne Toole sent hime worde that he would burne his howse & take away his Cattle if he would not Joine with him as he was tould by his wife & ffurther saieth not &c
