The examination of Denis Lalor taken by order of the Justices & Councell the 15th of July 1643 who saith that about <q> twenty yeares since he this examinant left this kingdome & went over into Flanders where he served under the King of Spayne first as a Common Souldier and after as a Captaine.
He saith also that about Hollantyde <r> last he this examinant came into Ireland and landed at Wexford togeather with Serjeant Major John Bourk & others and soone after he went to Kilkenny where the Supreame Councell there and Collonell Richard Cullen appointed him to be Livetenant Collonell to the said Collonell Cullen.
<s> He saith [ ] also that upon his being made Livetenant Collonell he repayred into the County of wickloe where he Comaunded the reg an Irish Regiment in the absence of Collonell Cullen.
<t> He saith also that about a Moneth since Capten Bough Bolton came into the County of Wickloe with a party, & then this

<v> Examinant Comaunding about 200 men had a skirmish with the said Bolton in which skirmish this Examinant was taken prisoner by the said Bolton.
