Rowland Williams [1st] 2d of June 1642 sworne & Examined
Saith that hee being dispossessed of his Corne att his house neare Kilkullin and vnderstanding that Mr William Ashbold of Tymolins was cheife in Comission for the ordering and disposeing of the protestants goods in the Barronies of of Narrow and Reban where this Examinant dwelt hee repaired vnto the said Mr Ashbold to entreat for some releife out of his owne Corne But

the said Mr Ashbold made answeare that if hee had come vnto him a day sooner hee would haue spoken vnto Sir Robert Talbott who then was att his house in his this Examinants ffavour But for the present Could doe nothing for him this Examinant onely wisht him to addresse himselfe vnto Gennerall Moore And this Examinant saith that the said William Ashbold appointed his brother James Ashbold to ioyne with James Wesley Barron of the Narrow to looke ouer and preserue the Protestants Corne and Goodes in the said Barronies for the Rebells vse which they the said James Ashbould and James Wesley accordingly performed And saith that the said James Wesley had a Companie of Rebells attending him to doe spoile vpon the English And alsoe saith that Paull ffitzGarrald of the Killins neare the Narrow had a the command of a companie among the Rebells
