The Examinacion of James Hussey taken the day and yeare aforesaid.
<x> Whoe being examined and duely sworne to so much as concerneth others fa confesseth that he was the Castle of Clongowes wood when the English army lately came before it but that he came [therether] but on the thursday before the army came thither, and that the occasion of his comming thither was this; viz: that being seruant to Walter Eustace off Ballybrack in the County of Catherlogh, brother to James Eustace of Clongowes wood, and his Master ke lyeing at Clongowes wood the last Christmas he left a sute of Cloathes there re and sent this examinate to fetch the saide sute of cloathes who comming thither on thursday night thought to haue returned back againe on friday morning but was intercepted by the comming of the english army, and being demaunded who were the cheifest actors in the fight with the english army he saieth that at the sight of the english army he was so afraid and sick that he crept into a hole and there lay untill the castle was taken
