The examinacion of Nicholas Noland taken the day and yeare aforesaid by the interpretacion of Ambrose Bedle
<y> Whoe being examined and sworne to so much as concerneth others he sayeth and confesseth that he was in the Castle at Clongowes wood when the english army came before it, but that he came thither but the uery day that the army came thither, and went into the castle onely for feare, and did neither use use gun or pike all the while he was there neither knewe how to use them either of them and denieth that euer he heard of the robbery or & murdering death of the englishman of Dunkeda although he confesseth that he liued in the same towne where he was killed town of Clongowes wood, this seauen yeares last past
