The examinacion of James Sleuin taken the day and yeare aforesaid by the interpretacion of Ambrose Bedle.
<z> Who being examined and duely sworne to so much as concerneth others, saieth that he was in the Castle of Clongowes wood when the English army late came before it, and that he came thither but the morning after the english army was descried, and that he and foure or fiue more of his brothers & sisters being but litle {litle} Children came to the Castle for safeguard, & sayeth that he is a Cotner by his trade and learnt his trade in Dublin but knoweth not howe to use either gun or pike neither did use any during the time of the fight and being demaunded what he did doe all the time of the fight he saieth that he did lay on his belly upon the ground for feare of the winde of the bullets, he saieth that he hath dwelt in this tweluemonth in the towne of Clongowes wood but neuer came into the castle but upon some businesse concerning his trade,
