The examinacion of Sibilla Piggott daughter of Major John Piggott of Disart in the Queens County deceased aged about ninteene yeares
Whoe being duely sworne and examjned deposeth and saith that in the month of October 1646 shee beeing then at the Castle of Disart in the Queenes County when the <A> Major John Piggott and others were then murthered there, was present at the grate of the said Castle with Mr Barnaby Doyne, when one ffarrell one keigan and one dardiz of the enemies partie did often promise quarter of life to all within the said Castle, shee saith that the said Barnaby Doyne, asked them seuerall tymes whither or noe the said quarter should bee performed which they as often with protestacions did answeare should bee performed, shee saith that soone after the grate was open [ often ] and the said Mr Doyne went out with an intencion (as shee beleiues) to draw vpp the said quarter in writeing according Major Piggott haueing a little before in the examjnants heareing giuen direccion to the said Doyne to see the said quarter drawen vpp she saith s h that shee heard that the said quarter would haue been drawen vpp in writeing but that there was noe pen and inke then to be had

had the n there, shee saith that vppon the promise of quarter as aforesaid there was a Cessation of shooteing on both sides, shee saith that when the said Grate was open this <B> examjnant went gott out of the said we Castle, and a while after shee came unto the house of Mr Brereton did neere to the said Castle and did there see Collonell ffarrall (now as shee heard) Lieutenant Generall ffarrall, who then comanded the partie of the enemie the n there, and in this examjnants heareing gaue orders to the officers and soldiers there Shee saith that shee doth not knowe whither or noe the said Collonell ffarrell did giue any order or direccions for the Cessation of shooteing or for the promiseing of the quarter aforesaid And further shee cannott depose
