The Examination of Donnogh Connor Minister of Gods word taken the 13th day of October 1642 Before mee Chancellour of his Maiesties Court of Exchequer, & one of his Maiesties Justices of Peace in the Countie of Wexford By direction of the right honnorable the Lordes Justices & Councell.
Who beeing sworne & Examined saith that Richard Roch sonne vnto Roch of Tymon hath for these many yeares past imployed himselfe att Sea & that about ffebruarie last past hee went from the Port of Wexford vnto ffrance with a barque of herrings & other commodities of this Kingdome & was to returne with speede as itt was commonly reported in the Towne of Wexford with Powder & ammunition for the Rebells And this Examinant further saith that dureing his this Examinants restraint in the said Towne hee heard itt frequentlie spoken that the said Roch was dailie lookt for to come with the said amunition & that the said Roch intended to make his passage for the more safetie by the Coast of Scotland And likewise saith that the said Roch was heeretofore imployed by one Brownvell a Pirate and with the said Bronevell lay in Prison for seuerall Monthes in the Castle of Dublin
