<Exw> Thomas Cooke of Shanbellebane in the County of Roscomon sworne & examined deposeth and sayth That about the begining of the present rebellion: hee was deprived & robbed and dispoyled att Shanbellebane aforesaid of a Cow & a Calf and garden proffits; & at George Bullocks howse nere Eneskilling of one Cow, And at this deponents howse in the County of Leitrim of 2 Cowes, And of howsholdgoodes at the howse of William Ward of Ballemore in the County of Leitrim And of all his apparell (for he was stript naked) and ready mony all worth xx li. at least By the irish rebells within those seuerall Counties, whose names he knows not, The Rebells in the County of Roscomon saying: That they had warrant from the Kinges Maiesty to take all the English mens goods but not any from the Scotts Bidding this deponent presently pr[ ]tly goe away For if he staid but alnight they would hang him whereupon he fled away to Elfin to save his liffe And this deponent left x li. in the hands of one John fforber thelder of the strone nere Belturbet to be paid to this deponents wiffe if she survived him: & if she did not then it to be paid to the deponent: which he conceiveth to be lost, for that the said forber & his 3 sonns & those his sonns wives & all their children saveing one little girle are robd of all their goodes & murthered by the Rebells
