Elizabeth Croftes Late of Logherouirk within the Countie of Cavan widow being duely sworne saith That in or

about the 24th of October 1641 her husband Edward Crofts & her father in law Peter Crofts, and her brother in law John Crofts dwelling all together vpon the abovesaid land, were possessed of personall estate as followeth Imprimis the lease s of Logh cormick & Cu r lisalie worth 190 li., Cowes horses & sheepe, vpon both the said farmes worth 432 li. Corne hay and turfe xxxij li., howsholdgoods in both howses 90 li., Swine, beefe. & garden stuff vj li. v j s. viij d. Ready monies cv li. worth In all eight hundred fifty six pownds vj s. viij d. All which said goods and chattells were taken from them by the meanes of this present Rebellion, especially by the hands of Edmund mc Mulmore ô Rely of Cavate within the County of Cavan, & Hugh ô Rely with his sonn, Whoe both inticed her father in law and mother in law to come to their howse, and there made him confesse where his moneys were Whoe when they had them, forthwith sent them out of dores which Certeine men whose names she knoweth not, But both her said father & mother in lawe, were murthered & burned in a ditch, And her said husband was afterwards slaine, when the 600 were rowted goeing to Tredarth But her brother in law escaped to Tredarth, & there died: And further saith that the parties hereafter mentioned are and be in actuall Rebellion, carrying Armes against his Maiestie and loyall subiects & Committing divers outrages & Cruelties vizt. Phillip Mulmore ô Rely John ô Rely ofin the County of Cavan Farrell o Rely ofin the same County gentleman Edmund mc Cabe a Lieutenant of Rebells, Henry mc Cabe Patrick o Reddy of Cavan gentleman Robert Brady of Cavan aforesaid gentleman (a notorious Rebell) Brian ô Gowen nere the Cavan gentleman, Teige Bradie a Capten of Rebells Capten Rory Maguire (whoe cawsed threescore protestants men women & Children to be throwne off the bridg of belturbett into the River, & there drowned, & he alsoe cawsed his souldjers to hang & kill one John fforbett a protestant gentleman, and his twoe sonns, and their wives and children: Some of the childrens braines being dashed out against the stones, as some poore English, then present, and divers of the Rebells have confidently related it vnto her, And the said Farrell o Rely murthered htis deponents said father in law, & mother in lawe And

And this deponent further saith that she heard divers of the Rebells say that if they could kill all the protestants here, they would then goe with their forces into England: And further saith that James Mc Cabe, Tho: Borrowes and Luke Dillion are still amongst the Rebells, But whether they Comitt any Cruelties outrages or robberies, or noe, she knoweth not, nor hath heard/
