The examinacion of Ellinor Birne alias Cullen widdow taken before us this 16th day of June 1652
Whoe beinge sworne & examined sayth That about the fowr & twentyth day of July last 1651 there came to the Towne and Lands of Connagh in the County of Dublin a Company of the Irish then in Armes against the English vizt one Donogh Decage, Edmond o Toole Edmond mc Teige and others whome this Examinate doth not now remember, whoe were all of them as the deponent heard vnder the Comaund of ffeagh Toole then & yet <A> in rebellion, and then and there meeteinge with one Cahill o Cullen this Examinats late husband violently seized on his person, & him did then carry in nature of a prisoner to Clancrih in the County of Wicklowe where this deponent followed him, and then beinge brought before the said ffiagh o Toole, the said Cahill began to demaund of him, wherfore he was soe dealt withall or what they could lay to his charge that might deserue that vsage, wherunto the said ffeagh answered that Viccarr generall Reliy could lay enough to his charge & therupon comannded the said Cahill to be carryed to the said Rely which beinge accordingely don the next day then after the said Cahill in the presence of the said ffeagh o Toole & by his order was hanged out of a bush on the high on the Lands of Shanchy in the said County of Wicklowe
