The Examjnacion of Dauid Roch of Dublin Labourer taken the eleuenth day of January 1652 before James Donellan and Thomas Dongan esquires Doctor Dudly Loftus and Alderman Thomas Hooke Members of the high Court of Justice and by the said Court appointed a Comittee for examjnacions concerning murders and massacres comitted within the Counties of dublin and wickloe since the xxiijth of october 1641
<A> The said Examjnant beeing of the age of ffifty yeares or thereabouts and duely sworne vppon the holly Evangelists deposeth and saith, That at the begining of the Rebellion in Ireland hee liued with Robert Kennedy of Balligarny in the County of wickloe esquire as plowman to the said Robert, And saith that hee did then know Nathaniell Snapp sometyme seruant to Mr Siluester Kennedy son to the said Robert Kennedy and allsoe knew John Leeson Sheepheard to the Earle of Meath, and that they were both Englishmen and Protestants, <B> Hee further deposeth that at the begining of the Rebellion aforesaid Collonell Luke Toole of

<C> Castlekevin in the said County haueing the Cheife Comand of the Rebells in the said County entred into the possession of the house of Balligarny belonging to the said Mr Robert Kennedy, Hee saith that whilst the said Luke Toole was in the said house hee saw the said Nathaniell Snapp and John Leeson brought into the said house as prisoners to the said Luke Toole but the by some vnder the said Luke Tooles comand but theire names hee knoweth not, And about halfe an houre after hee saw the said Nathaniell Snapp and John Leeson were brought out of the said house and carryed to two thorne trees neere to the said house and there hanged vntill they were dead, and (as some of the soldiers vnder Luke Tooles comand <D> tould this Examjnant) that the same was done by the direccion of the said Luke Toole, Hee saith that after the said Snapp and Leeson were hanged as aforesaid this examjnant did helpe to bury them, Hee further saith that hee beleiueth that the reason why the said Snapp and Leeson were hanged as aforesaid was because they were English men and Protestants, And hee further hee
