The Examination of John Fonke of Laughlin bridge in the County of Catherlagh Taken the 14th of August 1652 before vs Col: Henery Prity & Henery Jones two of the Justices of the peace for the prouince of Linster
The Examinant duly sworne & examined saith that about May last he mett with James boy Kerenan of Catherlagh of on the bridge of Laughlin aforesayd and Discoursing with him the sayd Kerenan in Irish the sayd Kerenan Conceiuing this Examinant to be an Irishman tould him boastingly that he the sayd James had hangd two or three English men & that he had a Good sh suite of Clothes from one of them wherof he sayd he had neede hee being in raggs: that the sayd James then named the persons he had so hangd but the Examinant being A stranger Did not know who they weare & doth not now remember theyr names and further saith not
