Gibbon Forrestalls Examinacion before the Court
Gibbon Forrestall being ex one of the prisoners at the barre being examined saith that Walter Bagnall and <A> Edmond Butler sent out some men by night to apprehend the English at Graeg viz John Stone George Stone and one John & John Stones wife & Robert the Tucker & his wife & John Stones daughter & a woman that kept the bake house & others & brought them to Ballaghalonden & there they hanged the said John & Walter Shurly & brought the rest forward to Cariglane where one John Baron son to Richard Baron hanged the said George Stone & delivered the rest of the prisoners and a warrant which hee had to a husbandman named <B> Edmond Roe then living at Carrigleane vnder Edward Butler & now living in Byshopslogh in the Countie of Kilkenny and afterward being on their way with the said husbandman they wer taken from him by Garret the piper and some others and wer afterwards executed
And that hee heard that Edmond Butler son to the Lord Mountgarret did after hang the said Piper for that fact
And that afterward Garret mc Cordie & another man a servant to Walter Bagnall or his brother went to the ship and fetcht thence William Stone & brought him to the greene of Tynyhinch & one Bennet of Rosse cam to prevent his death & to that end went to the house of Tynyhinch but before hee returned thence the said William Stone was hanged in the same place where the former two wer hanged being halfe a mile from Tynyhinch And further saith that Ellin Butler was present when the said William Stone was executed & saith that Jame Walter Bagnall & Edmond Butler wer in Tynyhinch

Tynyhinch when the parties aforesaid were executed & when William Stone was brought from the ship & stayed there the night following. But that James Butler was not there at that tyme but was gon thence before & <D> stayed away two nights And this Examinant further saith that the warrant above mencioned was from Collonell Bagnall as this Examinant heard by divers of the soldiers then present at the execucion And further saith that hee did not see Donogh Bane at the hanging of the anie of the parties above named And alsoe saith that the night after the hanging of William Stone hee spoke to Edmond Butler at Tynyhinch & saw Walter Bagnall but did not speake to him And hee saith that hee knoweth w none now living that can testifie of this Execucion but Ellin Butler & some of the solders & saith that Ellin Butler went along with them to the place of execucion & this examinant heard the said Ellin Butler bid the soldiers make hast to hang the parties above named And further hee saith not
