The Examinacion of Elizabeth fferrall of Grage in the County of Kilkeny widdow aged 30ty years or therabouts taken the 20th day of August 1652
This examinant sworne & duly examined saith; that she lived in the towne of Ross att the tyme of the first breaking out of the Rebellion & lived ther for the space of 3 years or thereabouts, & from thence removed about 5 or 6 years since, wher she hath continued;
Being demaunded if she knew William Stone of the Graige aforesaid shee saith shee ded very well know him & did know him 3 or 4 years befor the Rebellion; Being demannded what <A> became of the said William, she saith that he was hanged by Gibbon fforestall & Garratt fforestall vpon the lands of Tinihinich nere Clenkin, being asked how she knows that the said William was hanged she saith that Henry Bennett of Ross to whom this examinant was then a servant, came from Ross to the place where he was executed purpos{ely} to endeavor to saue the said William, and spoke to the said Gibbon & Garratt fforestall but could not prevayle
Being demaunded if she knew Ellen Butler, she saith she did, that she lived att Tinihinich & was servant or houskeeper to James Butler of Tinihinich a{nd} was at Tinihinich when the said William {Stone} {was} executed; being demannded whither the {the said Ellen} <B> Butler was present att his execucion { } hand therin by instigating advisin{g} { } the said fforestalls to dispatch h{im} { } knoweth not, but saith that she credibly {heard} diuers people living in Graig aforesaid sa{y} { } said Ellen Butler did {help} { } {p}utt} { }

and saving the said Stone his life; Being demaunded <C> what she knowes concerning the death of John Stone & the rest of the English that inhabited in Graige aforesaid, she saith, she heard that Gerrard Kavanogh a taylor & a piper did hang 2 women & a child & that it was reported likewise that the said John Stone was hanged Being demaunded what she knowes or hath heard concerning the death of some English people that were brought from Gowran towards Ross, she saith that she heard that ther was some fr brought from thence (amongst which was some of Henry White sonnes or daughters which were put to death below Ross: but by whom shee knoweth not
