The Examinacion of Teig mc Henry Murphy of Graige in the County of Kilkenny boateman aged 52 years or therabouts taken befor vs the xvijth of August 1652
<A>This examinant sworne & examined saith that he liveth in Graige aforsaid & that he hath lived 24 years ther & that he did know John Stone with his ffamily, Mris Salter widdow, Thomas White & his wife then inhabitants of the said towne, & saith that in the beginning of May Anno 1642 his man going forth early in the morning brought him word that the aforenamed persons were carried away by some of James Butlers of Tinihinch his servants:
And [ ] thervpon this deponent enquiring who they were that took & carried them away he was informed that it was Dermott o Doghon of Tynihinch groome to the said Butler Gerrott fforstall of Tinihinich, his tennant & follower, Patrick mc Cody servant to the said Butler & others whose names he remembreth not,
Being demaunded what afterwards became of them he saith that 2 of them (formerly mencioned were killed nere Tinihinich & ther corps brought back to be buried & the rest murthered towards Poolmonntane but by whom he knoweth not;
He further saith that William Stone was working att a shipp which Sir Charles Coot was building nere the Rore, & fetched from thence by a guard, brought nere Tinihinich & ther hanged And that the said Stone vpon his apprehension presently sent to Ross to one Bennett to come to mediate on his behalf who ymediatly came but could not prevayle, his kn cause of knowledge is, he saw the said Bennett come from the howse to Tinihinich & spoke with him, who told him as he hath deposed; & further saith not
