The Examinacion of Richard mc Cody alias Archdeaken of Graige in the County of Kilkenny gent aged 50ty years or therabouts taken befor vs the xvijth day of August 1652
This Examinant sworne & examined saith, that he liveth & hath lived aboue 16 years att Graige aforesaid; & saith that he did know John Stone his wife & children, Walter Sherlow & his wife, Mris Salter a widdow then living ther & more he remembreth not <A> and saith that he heard that in the beginning of May Anno 1642 diuers of James Butler of Tinihinich his servants in the night tyme came to the said towne of Graige, & then & ther seised vpon the aboue mencioned persons, tooke & carried them forceably away out of ther howses to Tinihinich, and as he heard were murthered;
Being demannded who they were that did take & carry them away he saith Dermott o Donoghghoden, of Tynihinch, Garrott fforestall, Donogh o bane, of Neaheme & Gibbon fforestall of Bramblestowne
Being examined what became of William Stone he saith he <B> heard that he was working vpon a shipp which Sir Charles Coot was building nere the Rore, & from thence he was brought by some of the said Butlers servants & hanged nere Tinihinich,
Being demannded if he did see the English prisoners which were sent from Gowran to Graige, he saith he see when they passed by amongst whom was Henry White who formerly lived att Graunge, & that his Master the Lord of Galmoy did send vnto this deponent to mediate & try if he could gett the said Henry White off, wherevpon he sollicited Morish Kelly who he thought had then the convoy of them, but could not prevayle the said Kelly alledging that he had noe comaund ouer them, & that afterward ther came one Andrew Barbar servaunt to the said Lord Galmoy who gott him off, & further depsoeth not
