The Examinacion of Katheryne Bolger wife to Edmond Slater of the Graige in the County of Kilkeny taken befor vs the 29th day of August 1652
The said Examinant aged 24 years or therabouts duely sworne and <A> examined saith: that she was daughter to Barnaby Bolger of Grai{ge} aforesaid, & that she was formerly married to Joseph Valentyn{e} who was hanged the beginning of May 1642 by Garra{tt} fforestall Gibbon fforestall Donogh o bane, Dermott o Dogheden Garratt mc Cody William Cody now living in Kilclane nere Inisteoge, with others whose names she remembreth not, her cause of knowledge is she was present & did see when the abouenamed persons did execute her said husband Valentyne & Walter Sherlow this deponent sisters husband: as Being dema un ded what became vpon the lands of Tinihinch within halfe a myle of the Graige, and that the murtherers was servants & followers to James Butler of Tinihinch, & that the said James was not att Tinihinch att that tyme when her said husban{d} & brother in law was executed: And being demaunded what became of John Stone & the rest that wer{e} ther taken & carried out of Graig, she saith that she heard they were putt to death, and further saith that after she had buried her husband she followed John Stone her father in law & the rest as farr as Ross to know what became of them, but heard that they were all murthered in the way betwixt Tinihinch & Ross: Being further demaunded what she knoweth or hath heard concerning the da murther of William sonne to John Stone, she saith, that the aformentioned parties as sonne as they had murthered John Stone & the rest went presently to a place nere the Rowre wher William Stone was working vpon a new shipp

<B> and seising vpon him brought him away with them, nere to Tinihinch & ther hanged him, and saith that she heard that Henry Bennott of Ross came purposely from thence to see if he could saue his life & offred money but how much she knoweth not, but could not prevayle Being further demaunded by whose orders the said John & William Stone were putt to death shee saith that it was the comon report that it was by orders from Collonell Walter Bagnall that William Stone was putt to death, of Dunleckyny that William Stone was putt to death, and saith that James Butler came not home till 2 dayes after the said execucion and further saith not
