The Examinacion of Edmond Grace of Graig in the County of Kilkeny gent aged 40ty or therabouts taken befor vs the day & year within named:
This examinant sworne & examined saith that he liveth & hath lyved in Graig aforsaid 14 years or therabouts: & saith that he knoweth that John Stone, & his 2 sonnes William Stone & Joseph Valentyne his sonne in law, Robert Tucker, John servant to John Stone, Walter Sherlye, Thomas White & his wife, Barbara <E> daughter to the said John Stone, Katharyne another daughter to the said John with diuers others whom he now remembreth not lyved then in Graige aforesaid: all which said persons were taken away in the night tyme by some of James Butlers of Tinihinch his servants but what became of them he knoweth not, more then that he did see 2 of their corps brought back the next day by ther wiues to be buried, being the same that is mentioned by the former deponent:
Being demaunded what was the names of those that seised vpon the said English inhabitants he saith Gerrald fforstall <F> of Knockin, Dermott o Doghedon of Tynehinich William mc Cody ffittz Redmon of the same Gibbon fforstall of Knockin now of Bramblestowne & as he heard John Baron eldest sonne of Richard Barron alias ffittzgarold of Clonkyn, & further saith that the said Gibbon fforstall was present & actiue in the execucion of this examinant 2 sonns in law vizt Walter Sherlow & Georg Valentin, & that he heard that John Stone was executed betwixt Graig & Poolmonntayne: by the said Butlers servants
Being further demaunded what became of William Stone he saith he heard that he was working vpon a shipp which Sir Charles Coot was building nere the Rore, & that he was fetched from thence by some of James Butlers servants being 4 miles distant, & brought to Tynehinich & hanged within muskett shot thereof: and saith that Gibbon fforstall can giue further relacion hereof, and further saith that w Henry Bennett of Rosse here hearing of the apprehension of William Stone, he poasted from Ross to saue the said William from being executed, but execucion was & to that purpose did address himself to the howse of Tynehinch but could not prevayle as he informed this deponent that night day att this deponent howse wher he lodged wher he drunck & went away: which was about 3 of the clock in the afternoon

Being further demaunded what personall estate John Stone had, he saith that he had 3 little reeks of Corne which the said John had passed ouer to Sir Edward Butler before his death, which after this deponent bought of the said Sir Edward for 14 li. in the life tyme of the said John Stone
And further saith that ther was one Pierce Britton a follower of Walter <G> Bagnoll who vnder pretence of having a promiss from William Stone to go with him as a soldier ouer the seas a little befor the Rebellion, the said Stone refusing afterwards to goe with him, he was seised vpon by a guard & carried away & imprisoned till his ffather went to procure his release, but by what authority he was carried away he knoweth not,
He further saith that presently after the battell of Ross ther was one William Lilly an Englishman taken servannt to one Parker who was taken & hanged nere the b att Tinihinch aforesaid but by whom or what authority he knoweth not
