The Examination of Joyse Matthewes aged 45 yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath the 6th of September 1652
The said Examinate saith that she liued at Cruitt in Idough in the begining of the Rebellion and saith that she was plundered and striped of all her goods but by whom she knoweth not, and that her brother Richard Phillips was a souldier at Castlecomer and after quarter giuen him being goeing to Athy was taken by the Rebells and brought to Kilkenny and there Executed but by whose order she knoweth not and further saith not not
