<A> The Examination of Tirlagh o Brenan of Clonine aged 44 yeares or thereabouts being Taken the 4th of September 1652
The said Examinante being duely examined saith that he liued at Clonine in the begining of the Rebellion & now being liueth at Ardrigh and being demaunded what Comaund he had in the begining of the Rebellion saith that he had none, but liued at home with his familie, and being demaunded who was at the siege of Castlecome{r} or who was at the storming of the Church saith that he knoweth not but that he himselfe vsed to come and goe there some times and being demaunded b who murthered and plundered the English at Castlecomer he saith that he heard of none kild there, but that the English were plundered by an Armie out of Loe Leinster & Countie of Carloe, and further saith that he knew Mr Parkison of Castlecomer and that being further demaunded saith that he sawe Teig mc Edmond o Brenan of now of Cloghfooke coming and goweing to Castlecomer to & from during the <B> siege and Gefferie Roe o Brenan, Teig mc Knogher o Brenan, Owen mc Dermott Brenan, Dermott mc Owen Brenan now of Kill Gilpatricke oge Brenan of Donmore, Geffery roe o Brenan of Ardrigh, Donogh o Brenan of Killtowne James Roe o Brenan now of Ballyfoile, Gefferie Brenan of Kiltowne, and being demaunded whether he knew James Brenan of Castlecomer or whether he kild an Englishman between Ballynikill Castlecomer and Ballynikill, he saith that he knowes the said James but doth not know whether he kild the said Englishman & being demaunded who plundered the English of their goods, he saith that the Armie of the Loue Leinster as aforesaid & further saith not
