The Examinacion of John Cooper aged 27 yeares or there abouts taken vpon oath the 31th day of January 1652
The Examinate saith, that hee hath knowen Edward Butler of Vrlingeford Esquire this eleauen yeares, the Cause of his knowledge was that he serued his father the late mountgarrett twelue yeares past and beinge asked wheather hee herd, or knew of any English protestants Cummitted prissoners att Balliragett in the first yeare of the Rebellion, hee sath hee did, and likewise sath that hee hard seuerall of them poore English hanged, vizt Dorothy Mallagh a poore English widdow which this deponent very well knew and seuerall others, but by whose order they hee knew not, and further sath not
