The Examinacion of Dorothy Scott of Balliraggett now wife vnto Edmond Scott of Balliraggett aforesaid aged 35 years or there abouts.
This Examinate beinge soorne and Examined saith that shee knew Edward Butler of Vrlingford Esquire this <A> sixteene or seauenteene yeares, this examinate beinge asked where shee liued the first yeare of the Rebellion, shath that shee liued in her owne house in Balliragett when there was seane English protestants brought from freshord vnto Balliraggett, and fiue of them brought to the Gallowse and there hanged, wherevpon this Examined went to Edward Butler aforesaid whoe was then come to Balliragett with about thirty of his owne Company, And this deponent earnestly begged the life of a poore Scotts gen [ ] gentlewoman and one Ann Trout, wherevpon the said Edward Boutler sent his man alonge with this Examined to the Gallowse Guarde neere the Gallows{e} where the prissoners was keept, and brought [ ] away the aforesaid Scotts gentlewoman the and the said Ann Trout to this Examinants house, where they were keepe [ ] for some time, and soe went to Ballinakill to an English Garrisson, and further saith and beinge asked by whose order the foresaid persons were Executed, saith shee knewe not, but saith there was noe Commaunder in that towne but the said Edward Butler att that time and further saith not.
