The Examinacion of Ann Death alias Trout aged 40 yeares or there abouts sworne and examined the first day {of} ffebruary 1652
Saith in the yeare fortyto about a weeke after Easter this deponent beinge then att ffreshford, was seized vpon with diu{ers} other English protestants and Imediately carried awa{y} prissoners to Balliraggett where they were kept about foure {&} <A> twenty howers in prisson, and then fiue of the said Company were hanged halfe hanged and stiffled and soe putt in the grownd halfe dead, and as the Enemie were Coueringe them with earth some of them threwe backe some of the Eart{h} with theire hands, as this deponent were Credibley informed by seuerall people that was present and sawe itt, and beinge demaunded by whose order the said persons were hanged shee saith, shee herd kneweth not but Mrs Scott told this deponent that shee beged her life of Mr Butler on of the Lord Mountgarretts sonns, whoe was then in the towne att that time when the foresaid fiue persons w were handged, whose names shee knowes not, beinge a meere stranger to them and in those parts, and li l k likewise to the foresaid Mr Butler, and therefore did not know his Cristen name nor what his Commaund was, neyther doth shee remember that shee euer saw him before or since and further saith not
