The examinacion of ffrancis Barnwell of Morton in the County of Kildare Spinster aged seaventeen yeares or thereabouts sworne sayth.
<E> That John Browne half brother of this Deponent was taken prisoner a litle before Christmas three yeares since in the Mannor of Carbree by the souldiors of Captain Cooley Governor of Carbree Castle & there kept prisoner about the space of ten dayes, and sayth that shee heard Captain Cooley the nigh t he next daye after his cominge home comand his souldiers to carry him the said Browne [ ] out of the Garison of Carbree (his boults beinge struck of in the presence of this deponent, which the said souldiors did, & presently after the said Browne was shott to death; and shee sayeth that neither shee this deponent nor her mother nor sister were suffered to goe to see the execucion of the said Browne because the said Captain Cooly comanded the souldiors to keepe them togither in the markett place att Carbree till the execution was over, & further shee sayeth not.
