The examjnacion of Edward Jones of Turnings in the County of Killdare aged forty two yeares or thereabouts taken the 5th day of July 1654 before vs Sir Gerrard Lowther knight Sir Edward Bolton knight and James Donelan Esquire Comissioners for the Administracion of Justice at Dublin &c
Who beeing duely sworne and examjned deposeth and saith and that hee liueing in the Turnings aforesaid and heareing of some difference betweene Thomas ffeneghan and John Hagan, the examjnant <A> repayred to Margarett ffenaghan now liueing in the Turnings aforesaid mother to the said Thomas and about the first of June last past and tould her that hee had heard of a difference betweene her said son and the said John Heagan, wherevppon the said Margarett tould the examjnant that it was best for the said John Hagan to lett her son Thomas ffenaghan aloane or else hee should hang it would bee worse for him for that her said son had not killed two or three soldiers as hee had don, which she would iustifie, The examjnant further saith that the same day hee went to the said Thomas ffenaghan, and asked him wherefore hee did not make an end of the difference betweene him and the said John Hagan, the said ffeneghan therevppon tould the examjnant that <B> if the said John Hagan would not lett him aloane hee the said John Hagan and his brother Daniell Hagan should hang as high as any of theire generation, and the

the examjnant demaunding for what cause The said Thomas ffenaghan answeared that hee would make that appeare heereafter, And therevppon the examjnant repered to the high Constable of the Barrony of Salt in the County of Killdare and had the said John Hagan and Daniell Hagan apprehended and sent to Dublin where they now remayne prisoners, And further saith not,
