The examjnacion of Ann Bath wife of Seuerus Bath of Catherlagh in the County of Catherlagh gent: taken before
<A> who beeing duely sworne and examjned deposeth and saith That in or about the month of October 1646 shee was at the Dis e Castle of Disert in and the Queenes County when Major John Pigott and others were murthered there, shee saith shee heard that quarter was promised by Captain Keigan Captain ffarrall and Captain Dardis, and vppon theire promise of quarter there was a Cessacion of shooteing on both sides, shee saith that after the said Cessation of [ ] shooteing diuers of the enemie came in to at the lower windowes of the said Castle, and began to murther some some of those in the lower roomes of the said Castle which Major Piggott heareing (beeing then in an vpper roome of the said Castle) did cause the men then with him to bee in readines and did cause some lumber to bee throwne downe the stayres to stopp the passage of the enemie comeing vpp the stayres shee saith that soone after Major Piggott called to the enemie for quarter which one Captain ffarrall who then was vppon

vppon the stayres did accordingly promise to and the said Major Piggott aswell for himselfe as others the rest then with him, and afterwards the said Major Piggott caused the said Lumber to bee remoued, shee saith that soone after the said Captain ffarrall and the rest of the enemie came vpp the into the said roome with theire swordes [ ] and skeanes drawen the and presently strippt all the men woemen and children there, and afterwards wounded the said Major Pigott and killed diuers others in the said roome, And further shee saith not
