The further Examinacion of Winfride ffield the wife of Thomas ffield of Dublin aged 34 yeares or thereabouts taken the xxjth daye of October 1652 before vs Sir Gerrard Lowther knight Sir Edward Bolton knight and Thomas Dongan Esquire Commissioners for Administracion of Justice Oyer and Terminer, and Gaole Delivery &c.
The said Winifryde haveinge recollected herself and come againe vnto vs to declare her further knowledge touchinge the Murder of Richard Langford this Examinants ffather and beinge further sworne and duely Examined, further deposeth and saith that one Mr Manninge and one Mr Kent of the Navan askeinge and demandinge of Pattrick Begg of the Navan the reason wherefore, he the said Pattrick had Called and Murdred caused the saide Richard Langford, the saide Patt beinge a Neighbour and an honest man to be killed, he the said Pattrick Answered that the said Richard Langford had threatened to kill the said Pattricks Nurse and further saide that the said Richard Maintained Cadowgans Troop And therevpon the saide Manninge and Kent further sayinge that though the said Richard Langford threatened her he yet he did not to kill the saide Nurse yet he did not kill her, And whervpon the said Pattrick Begg further saide that the saide Richard did Mainetaine said the Roagues Cadowgans & his troope with powder with amunition at Arbrackan in the County of Meath and that further alleaged that the saide Richard Langford had said that it was noe matter if the Navan and all the Roagues that were in it had beene burned (a garrison of the Irish Rebells beinge then

then in the saide towne of the said Navan, And saith that the saide Pattricke Begg beinge asked by Mr Maninge <C> and Mr Kent why he had caused the said Richard Langford to beinge killed as aforesaide he the said Pattrick did not denye vnto them that he had caused the said Richard to be killed; but onely gave them the reasons aforesaide as a seemeinge causes for the doeing of it.
