Thexaminacion of of Patrick Russhe now prisoner in the ffower Courts about the death ofCarr taken sayeth
That he was a souldier vnder the Comand of Lieutenant Colonell <A> Barnwell on the Irish party when Phillipp Carr was taken prisoner in Maye last by her Rich: Dighonan Patrick Goch, Teigh Mallow, & John Tyrell in whose company he was this Examinant then was & that he was within pistoll shott when the said Carr was taken, & that he & Richard Dighonan left him in the [ ] of a prisoner with the other three & went to Newcastle in Brymighams Countrey by their direccion & by Mutuall consent to gett one to goe to Techrohan about exchange, & they retorned within 24 howers & found the man slaine, & they asked the other 3 why they had killed him & they tould them that some of Brim id ghams Brim Countrey would haue rescued him & therefore they killed him. he sayeth that Tirell is in the Countrey still but he knowes not where.
