The Examinacion of Cornelius Gayner of Collyers Towne in the County of Eastmeath yeoman taken at Dublin the 28th of January 1652
The said Cornelius Gayner aged thirty yeeres or or thereabouts being duely sworne and examined saith That he is the sonne of Richard Geyner late of Castlene Moylagh in the County of Meath deceased, That about the beginning of ffebruary 1647 ther said Richard Geyner lived in Castlen Moylagh aforesaid being protected by the Governor of Trym (then in the posession of the Parliaments forces) That Luke Leynam Hugh Cormock alias Bredagh, Oliver Ledwich Martin and others about fourteen in number did in the said Moneth of ffebruary 1647 in the night come to the said Castle and assaulted the same broke into the Bawne and at the Castle doore the house killed the said Richard wounded his wife, and wounded this deponent, and carryed away from thence Twenty Cowes, That Connor รด Cahry a servant of the said Richard, then looking after the said Cattle was so terrifyed with the outrages afore comitted that he soone after dyed, The deponents cause of knowledge that the said Luke Leynam Hugh Cormock Oliver Ledwich & Martin, were actors in the said murder is for that the saidMartin being afterwards taken and brought to Trym where he dyed, did while he was prisoner there a litle before his death

death Confesse in the hearing of this deponent his mother and divers others, that he was one in the Compan y of those that killed the deponents father, and tooke away his Cattle, that Luke Leynam, Hugh Cormock & Oliver Ledwich were of the same Company And for that this deponent was present when the said Major Stanley having apprehended the said Leynam examined him concerning the Murther of this deponents father & the said Leynam then confessed that he was of the Company that comitted it And further saith not
