The informacion of John foxe of Rathreagh in the County of Longford gentleman aged Eight and twenty yeares or thereabouts taken by Coll Thomas Herbert and Robert Doily Esquire Members of the high Court of Justice this 16 of ffebr 1652
The sayd John ffoxe being deposed saith that yesterday being the 15 of this present moneth one Hubert Cahell (a preist & now ready to goe for Spayne) casually meeting with this informant in Copper Ally in dublyn they went togeather into the house of one mr Potts there where amongst other discourse the sayd Preist told this informant that hee the sayd Preist having been the day before (or thereabouts) visiting some of the prisoners in the Marshallsey in Castlestreet hee there saluted Captain James mcGerrald of Coollevore in the County of Longford; and vpon his going out mrs Marrgret Tyrrell (now wife of the sayd Capt James mac Gerrald) followed him the sayd Preist and desired him to speake (vnderstanding that hee was well acquainted with this informant) to speake vnto this informant & earnestly to desire him not to prosecute against her sayd Husband. vsing this argument that Itt would not avayle him to any thing to see her husband putt to death. He this informant conceaues the reason to be for that

shee had heard that this informant was summond by the high Court to giue Evidence in behalfe of the Common wealth concerning the murther of the English comitted by the Rebells at Longford in the yeare 1641 & further deposeth not
