<symbol> The examjnacion of Edmond mcWilliam ffitz=Gerrald of Ballicanon in the County of Killdare ffarmer aged thirty three yeares or thereabouts taken the xxjth day of dec 1653 before vs Collonell william Edwards and Thomas Richardson esquire members of the high Court of Justice appointed for takeing examjnacions concerning murthers and massacres &c
Who beeing duely sworne and examjned deposeth and saith, That about Allhollantide last was two yeares the examjnant was tould by some of the Inhabitants of the Calloe (whose names hee know remembreth not) that Marcus Cruise now prisoner in Dublin and one of his brethren (whose name the examjnant knoweth not) beeing in the said towne of Calloe about the tyme aforesaid demaunding contribucion of Brian mc Hugh ffarrall then an Inhabitant of Calloe aforesaid, and some angry wordes passing betweene them concerning the said contribucion, the said brother of the said Marcus Cruise (as the examjnant was tould) did with a pistoll which hee had then in his sh hand and charged with a bullett, shott at the said Hugh mc Brian ffarrall, of which shott the said Hugh mc Brian ffarrall (as the examjnant was tould, died the next day after, And further saith not,
