The Examination of William Stafford Gent taken on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerninge Mathew Deuerux of vnis enniscorthye in the County of Waxford merchant
<to the first interro:> this deponent sath that the said Mathew did in the first yeare of the warr liue at Enniscorthy in the aforesaid and hath liued there and else where in the County of Waxford euer since and sath that the said Deuerux might haue remoued himeselfe out of into the English Quarters as some English did but not without losse of his Estate
<to the 2 interro:> he Can not depose
<to the 3 interro:> this deponent [ ] sath that hee verelye beleiueth that the said Deuerux did Contribute to the publicke taxes of the Countrye <d> for the raisinge of mony and other prouissions for the Irish forces in the first yeare of the warr and soe forward
<to the 4: and 5th interrogatorye> he can not depose
<to the 6th interro:> this deponent sath that the said Mathew did <e> in the yeare 1643 Joyne in the Election of the supreame and prouinciall Councells as he as as this deponent Conceaueth
