The examinacion of Tho: Gray aged 30ty yeares concerning the aforesaid William Esmond, who being sworne saith
That hee lived with at the begining of the warre with at Rahaspock neere to the said Mr Esmond house & that about Christmas after the Rebellion this examinant was required to meete at a Randevouz by at Shilbeggan within 2 Myles of Duncannon ffort, & had from the said william a ffowling peece to carry to that Randevouz & saith that Rich: Esmond, John Jepson, Tho Garrat Slatter all servants to the said William Esmond went with this examinant being Armed to Shilbeggan aforesaid, with others of the said Esmonds tennants, And saith that hee hath <n> did see the said Mr Esmond at Shilbeggan aforesaid Bourkstowne with not farr from Duncanon fort with where some of the Irish forces laye about Candlemas 41. And this examinant further saith that the aforesaid John Jepson seruant to the said William Esmond had a browne guelding of the said William to goe forth a Trooper in the behalfe of the parish of Rahaspeck to ioyne with the Irish against the English, & that the said William Esmond was paid for the said horse by the said parish, ffurther cannot depose.
