Richard Hore of Clone aged thirty fiue yeares or thereabouts, deposeth Concerning the said william Esmond, that this deponent being a souldyer of Capt Tho Rosceters Company by the Comand of his master <c> Richard wadding of Ballecogley, & being att shelbeggan when one Lt Treuisoe & a partie of the english came out of the forte of Duncannon to a place called Dungulph: when & where the said Capt: Rosceter & a partie of his & other Companys drew forth to meet them yet this deponent was not in the fight but stood a little distance from them (with one william Newporte & others) about musquet shot: at which time & place the said Leiutenant Treuisoe & the men vnder his Comand (but how many men he knoweth not) were killed by the said Rosceters and <the other> Companyes at whose returne the deponent did see the said william Esmond on horsbacke hauing noe Comand that the deponent knowes or heard of, & alsoe one Anthony Hore sonne to william Hore of Harperstowne esquire & Jesper Prendergast of the Gurchins (neyther of which had any Comand) then on horsebacke with swordes by their sides <d> Coming backe with the said Companyes to shelbegan aforesaid: where the deponent the night before (to the best of his remembrance) did see the said william Esmond there, [ ] soe as he Conceiues the said william marched forth with the said Companyes <towardes> to Dungulph, at which time & place the said Leutenant & his party were killed as aforesaid: And being demanded who of the said Rosceters Companye were then present at the said killing now aliue answeareth that Mathew wadding of Pettitstowne, walter Rosceter now of Assaly: John Connicke of Magglasse R Edward Synnot of Roslare sergeant to the said Rosceters Company: James Clundake of Kilmackree: Richard Deuereux of Balmaguire
