The Examination of Nickolas Stafford Esquire taken on behalfe of the Commonwealth con concerninge the aforesaid Phillepe Cheeuers of the grange
<to the 1st interro:> sath thath the said Phillepe liued in the first yeare of the warr at the grainge aforesaid and euer since then the quarters of the Irish and <z> sath that the said Phillepe might haue remoued himeselfe at the first of the warr without preiudice of his person as this deponant Conceaueth at that tyme
<to the 2 interro:> he can not depose
<to the 3o interro:> this deponent doeth verelye beleiue that the said Phillepe did actually contribute to the pulbicke taxes of the Countrye as others <a> did for the maintainnance of the Irish forces

<to the 7th interro:> this deponent sath that th he beleiueth that the said Phillepe did take the oath of associacion it beinge a generall thinge <b> Imposed on all

<to the 12th interro:> this deponent sath that he hath heard that the said Phillepe had in his posession at his howse at the grainge of one trunck{e} <c> of goods belonginge to mr Ralph Waddingto{n} or some other English protestant which said goods were taken out of a vessell wherein the said English had embarked themselues for flight
