The examinacion of Rich: Whittie of Litle Killyane aged 55 yeares Concerning the aforesaid George Cheevers
who vpon his oath saith
To the 1st Interr: That the said George did in Ao 41 live at Killyane in the County of Wexford being the Irish quarters, where hee remayned & at Ballenclash <q> all the tyme of the warr, vntill the Lord Cromwell came to wexford, & then hee removed with some of his stock into the Irish quarters more remote as this deponent hath heard.
To the rest of the Interr, hee can not depose, only saith. That the said Cheevers was in Armes the first yeare & raised some men with whom <r> hee went to Duncannon to ioyne with the Irish to keepe in the English at Duncannon vnder the Lo: Esmond, & that one Richard Keating of Stevenstowne was as his Leiuetenant the cause of his knowledge is for that the said Keating prest one of this examinants servants to get serve in the said Cheevers company. Hee also saith That some servants of the said Cheevers by name Rich: mc Cody & Robert Debon, with others plundered the goods of some English ymbargued for England at the begining of the Rebellion & carryed them to the said Mr Cheevers house to great Killyane aforesaid, where the said goods were received & the said servants afterwards dwelt, & this deponent saith That their was a warrant directed to the said Cheevers to deliuer back the said goods to one Mr Wadington, but whether it was obeyed, or not, this examinant knowes not
