The examinacion of Nicholas StJohn of wexford seaman aged about fortie foure yeares, taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Paule Turnor of wexford gent deceased
<To the 1st interr> The Examinant deposeth and saith that he well knew the said Paule, was and Lived in wexford in the Irish quarters the first yeare and the whole time of the rebellion, And did not thence remooue into the english quarters As many english and protestants <x> Liuing in wexford then did, The deponents cause of knowledge is that the deponent being an Inhabitant in wexford knew the said Paule and his residence to be in wexford as aforesaid
<To the 2d inter> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3d interr> The Examinant deposeth and saith that the said Paule As he verily beleiues did actually contribute his share of the publicque taxes layd on the towne of <y> wexford, the first yeare of the warres and since As the deponent and others of the towne generally did
<To the 4th Interr> Hee deposeth and saith that he beleiues the said Paule was actiue in the promoting the warre against the english in the first yeare thereof <Z> The deponents cause of beleife is for that the deponent did see the said Paule in actuall Armes in wexford the seacond yeare of the rebellyon
<To the 5th inter> The deponent saith that he is confident that the said Paule was frequently at publicque meetings of <a> the Irish inhabitants in wexford, and had to the deponents knowledge the deponent hath seen the said Paule at some meetings after the first yeare, in order to the contriving & setting forward the rebellyon

<To the 6th inter> Hee deposeth and saith that he beleiues the said Paule being a gentleman of note, and vsually at the <b> meetings of the Irish, had a vote with in, & Joyned with the rest in electing men out of wexford for the generall nationall assemblyes
<To the 7th inter> The Examinant saith that he is confident the said Paule did take the oath of associacion, being soe generall <c> a thing that he conceiues the said Paule could not avoyd the taking thereof
<To the 8th Inter> Hee saith that there being a generall consent of the townesmen in making a prouision & aduancing monyes for the buying of powder Amunicion <d> & other habilliments of warre, for the Irish, the deponent is assuredly confident, that the said Paule was vnanimously Joyned among the rest, & contributed as others did, for the bringing in of Armes &c
<to the 9th Inter> Hee deposeth that to his knowledge the said Paule was gouernor of Roslare forte, & Captaine therof & of the men guarrissoned therein for the Irish <d> against the english His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent goeing in and out with merchants ships by the forte of Roslare, did see the said Paule actually Comanding thereof, Hee being the first Captaine of the said forte

<To the 10th inter> Hee deposeth and saith that the deponent living neere the said Paule knew that Thomas Turnor one of his sons being at mans estate, did frequently in his fathers absence, to the deponents personall knowledge Comand the said forte & the men therein, And that John Turnor another of the said Paules sons was in the towne of wexford at the storming <f> thereof, and afterwardes the said John went to the forte of Duncannon, then defended by the Irish against the english, where the said Paule John continued till he dyed
