Edward Synnot of Dungulp gentleman aged about thirtie one yeares Deposeth concerning the foresaid William Doyle of Porchester gent vizt
That the said william was in actuall Armes for the Irish against the english in the beginning of the said Rebellyon, and had a Companie of men vnder his Comand wherewith he did act and abet the said Rebellyon against the english, & as this Deponent credibly heard, the said william Joyned, & associated himselfe & his forces with Luke Byrne of the Countie of wickloe, in the beseiging of the Castle of Carnow, guarrissoned and defended by some english therein, which was in the first <x> beginning of the said Rebellyon: But to the deponents sure & certaine knowledge the said william Doyle did vsuallie Resorte to sir morgan Cauanagh knight & held correspondencie with him the said sir Morgan, who was the cheife actor of the said Rebellyon in that parte of the countrey, The cause of this deponents knowledge is for that the deponent being seruant to the said sir morgan did see the said William Doyle on horsebacke & in Armes Riding and marching with the said sir Morgan and the Irish forces, vnder his Comand, at their goeing out vpon seruice against the english, & the deponent is very confident that at that them times and the said william had a number of men vnder his Comand parte of them forces vnder conducted by the said sir Morgan, which was in the first yeare of the said Rebellyon and further saith not
