The Examinacion of James Peirce of Ballell gent aged about forty yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Richard Joyce of Roslare in the County of wexford yeoman &c
<To the 1st Interr> The Examinant Deposeth & saith that he well knoweth the said Richard Joyce & that the said Richard dwelte in the said Countie in the Irish quarters the whole time of the rebellyon & from thence did not remooue into the english quarters as many english & protestant{s} <t> dwelling in the said Countie did His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was & is well acquainted with the said Richard Joyce
<To the 2d interr> Hee cannot depose.
<To the 3d interr> Hee Cannot depose.
<To the 4th inter> The deponent saith that this examinant did see the said Richard was in actuall Armes, in or about the seacond yeare of the rebellyon, amongst the Irish of the Countie assembled on the seabankes of <u> Kilrane, in order to oppose and hinder the english from landing out of their ships then riding at Anchor in Greenore bay in which place the said Richard & the rest did keep watch for many nights in Armes as aforesaid
<To the 5th> and the rest of the Interrogatoryes he Cannot depose, and further saith not &c
