Henry Masterson Late of Monyceed esquire aged about fiftie three yeares Deposeth concerning the said Eneas Kauanagh of Molane gentleman deceased vizt
That the said Eneas a t was in the first beginning of the rebellion the first & actiuest man that this Deponent did then know in them partes, in the acting and promoting of the rebellyon against the english, His dwelling being about two miles distant from the deponents mansion at Monyceed aforesaid, And further saith That the said Eneas about the tenth or fifteenth of Nouember 1641: did rayse a Companie of foote, and therewith met the trunckes & carriages of william Plunket esquire that then were passing towardes Dublin by the howse of Limericke, where this Deponent then was with the Lord Esmond, & others of the english & protestants And newes thereof being brought to the Lord Esmond, this Deponent & the rest, the deponent mooued for a Companie of men to follow the said Eneas & to rescue the plunder which he had taken out of the said trunckes, wherewith this deponent pursued them yet they fled into the <w> woods and escaped: And after that the said Eneas went about the Countrey plundering the english & protestants & came to the howse of Abell Ram, & plundered the same & turned the said Ram & his familie thereout, & kept possession thereof till the Lord generall Cromwells Coming to the this Countie with his Armie: In which estate, the deponent did see and know the said Eneas & his familie, and did likewise see some of the said Abells Cattle in his possession, and further saith not &c
