The examinacion of Richard Shortall of Eniscorth{y} gent aged fortie yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath, on the behalfe of the Comonwealth, Concerning Danyell Roe Cavanagh of Balliluske in the barrony of Goary and County of Wexford gent deceased
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant saith that hee well knew the said Danyel{l} for that the said Danyell dwelt two miles from this deponents habitacion and that the said Danyell Continued at his Dwelling at Balliluske aforesaid in the Irish quarters, all the time of the rebellyon, and <a> from thence did not remooue into the english quarters as the seauerall english and protestants that dwelt in the said Barrony of Goary & neere the said Danyell did: His Cause of knowledge appeares
<To the 2d Inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th Interr> Hee Saith and deposeth that the said Daniell in the first beg breaking forth of the Rebellyon, did actually contribute his person and others in Armes and did act and abet the said Rebellyon & the Robberyes therein Comitted vpon the english and protestants, The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent Comeing from Carnow Imediately after the said Rebellyon brake forth did see a great herd of cattle Consisting of <b> eleauen score or thereabouts, which were driuen away by the said Danyell Roe Cavanagh & others in Armes in his Companie from the landes of Tomduffe, and other landes bellonging to Sir Walsingham Cooke kni{ght} & his english & protestant tennants, which cattle being of the kinde of Neat) were driuen away by the said Danyell & his confederacy without any order or powe{r} sauing what he & his faction vsurped to themselues for ought knowne to this deponent & further saith not
