The Examinacion of Dauid Sutton of old Court aged about 40 yeares taken in the behalfe of the Lord Protector and Comon Wealth of England duly sworne & examined deposeth as foll against Dermot Mc Dowlin Kavenagh in the County of Wexford & Barony of Bantry.
To the whole Inter at large deposeth & saith that the aboue said Dowlin was in actuall Armes in the first yeare of the Rebellion in promoting the Irish Rebellion against the English The cause of this deponents knowledge is that he saw the said Dowlin in Armes during <a> that time and before the first day of November 1642; And as this deponent was Credibly informed was before the Garrison of Tenturne then in the Possession of the English and was during the first yeare & since reputed to be a notorious plunderer of the English, And did then actt in the capacity of a Captaine, And afterwards went into the County of Kildare where as this deponent was afterwards informed in fight against the English The said Dowlyn was slayne & further saith not
