The examinacion of Jonas Rushworth of Eniscorthy gent aged fiftie one yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Thomas Codd of Garrilough in the County of Wexford gent vpon the Interrogatoryes annexed to the Comission of enquiry
< To the 1st Interrogatory> The Deponent saith that he well knew and was acquainted with the said Thomas & that he the said Thomas dwelt at Garrilough in the County of Wexford in the Irish quarters the first yeare & the whole time of the rebellyon, and did not thence Remooue into the english quarters as Arthur Manwayring & other <t> english and protestants (his the said Thomas nigh neighbours did: His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see & was frequently Conuersant with the said Thomas during the Rebellyon At such times as the said Thomas did Resorte to Eniscorthy the place of this deponents Residence
<To the 2d Interr> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3th 4th inter> The deponent saith that the said Thomas did actually Contribute his person in the first yeare of the Rebellyon to the promoting the same and in the Capacity of a member of the County Councell did act and abet the said rebellyon <u> His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Thomas sitting and acting with the said Councell att Eniscorthy (in the said first yeare) where the deponent dwelt
<To the 5th Interr> The deponent saith that he did see the said Thomas at the publicque meetings or assemblyes of the Irish <w> held at Eniscorthy in the said first yeare in order to promote the said Rebellyon against the english
<To the 6: 7th & 8th> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 9th interr> The deponent saith that the said Thomas was a member of the County Councell the first yeare of the rebellyon as is declared vpon the 3d & 4th Interrogatoryes to which <x> the deponent refferreth himselfe And likewise the said Thomas did officiate as one of the Commissioners of the Armie for the Irish against the english in or about the yeare 1647; His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Thomas sitting and acting with Peirce Buttler & others the cheife fomentators of the Rebellyon at Eniscorthy

<To the 10th inter> The Deponent saith that the said Thomas Codd had a brother whose name the deponent conceiueth to bee Jesper Codd, which said Jesper was in Armes & a Captayne for the Irish against the english in the first yeare of the Rebellyon, And that the <y> said Jesper being in that Capacity fighting against the english at a place Called Carrig [ ] maine neere Dublin was killed as this Deponent was informed by them that Came from the said Battayle & especially by his the said Jespers freinds who bemoaned his losse
<To the 11th 12th & 13th> Hee Cannot depose and further saith not &c
