Robert Browne of Knockingall yeoman aged thirty years or thereabouts being duely sworne & examined touching the foresaid James Duffe of New Rosse gent deceased saith That the said <l> James was a Captayne of the Irish Rebells a Company of the Irish with Drum & Cullours at the seige of Duncannon then & there promoting the Rebellyon & Robberyes The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said James Duffe in the front of & Comanding the said Company which was Raysed in the towne of Rosse for the Irish seruice at Christmas 1641: & seauerall times since & the deponent saith that the said James did personally engage with his Company against the english that sallyed out of Duncannon forte about the begining of March after the Rebellyon first brake forth & further saith not
