The examinacion of Major Edward Aston of Kilbarry in the County of Waterford esquire taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Anthony Colclough of in the County of Wexford esquire
vpon the whole matter of the Interrogatoryes the examinant deposeth & saith that the said Anthony Colclough was in actuall Armes with & of the Irish Rebells of the said County of Wexford that in or about July after the rebellyon brake forth, in the yeare (1642: beseiged, sumoned & tooke the castle of Tinterne wherein the deponent & about thirty men vnder his Comand were guarrissoned for the defence thereof against the Irish in the behalfe of the english & the Lady Colclough a protestant & the deponent further saith that the said Anthony was one of them & in Armes that went as a guard to Conueigh the deponent & his Company from Tinterne to ffetherd the place where this examinant & his party <u> did take shipping to goe into england Munster & further saith that Dudly Colclough & John Colclough two of the said Anthonyes brothers were then & there in Armes His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see them the said Anthony Dudely & John in actuall Armes at the time & at the places aforesaid, with & of the said Irish Rebells & further saith not &c
