The examinacion of Major Edward Aston of Kilbarrie in the County of Waterford esquire taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Dudly Colclough of Moynart in the County of Wexford esquire
Vpon the whole matter of the Interrogatoryes the examinant saith & deposeth that about July 1642: after the Rebellyon brake forth a great party of the Irish Rebells of the said County of Wexford in Armes came & beseiged the castle of Tinterne wherein this deponent & about thirty men vnder his Comand were guarrissoned and whereof & amongst whom the said Dudly then was in actuall Armes & the deponents saith that the said Dudly & the Rest did beseige the deponent ti ll they for some dayes & sumoned him seauerall times within them dayes to yeild the said castle which the deponent was at lenght (being in despayre of any succour or Releife) constrayned to surrender vp to them the said Irish, And the deponent further saith that the said Dudly was one of them that guarded this deponent <w> & his partie from Tinterne to ffetherd where the deponent & his said said Company tooke shipping for to goe into England Munster the deponents cause of knowledge is for that he did see the said Dudly with in Armes with & among the said Rebells as one of the cheifest of them at the time, & places aforesaid & the deponent saith that Anthony Colclough & John Colclough brothers to the said Dudly were then & there in Armes with the Irish & their said brother, & further saith not
