The examinacion of Robert Browne of Knockingall yeoman aged thirty yeares or thereabouts being duely taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning John Cullin of the Newtowne of Bannow gent deceased
<To the 1st interr> The Examinant Deposeth & saith that the said John Cullin dwelt with his father Richard Cullin at Newtowne of Bannow aforesaid in the Irish quarters the first yeare & the whole time of the rebellyon till he dyed & did not thence remooue into the english quarters as his protestant <c> neighbours did: His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was seauerall times at the said John his fathers howse & did then & there see the said John Cullin
<To the 2d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th> The deponent saith that hee did see the said John Cullin in Armes contributing his person against the english with the Irish then beseiging Duncannon forte in the first yeare of the Rebellyon, at which time & afterwardes the said John was one of the County forces then raysed & formed against the english And the deponent further saith that he did see the said John with the Irish Army that fought against the Lord of Ormond at Ballibegg Neere Rosse where many of the english were slayne <d> acting & abetting the said Rebellyon as much as in him the said John Cullyn lay: The examinant saith that the first time wherein the deponent did see the said John at & against Duncannon was about the first Easter after the rebellion brake forth where the said John Continued in the foote Company eyther of Captain Thomas or Captain John Roch for the space of three monthes or thereabouts when & where the said John was Armed with a sword & musquet: And the deponent saith that the tyme that the examinant did see the said John at Ballibegg fight was vpon or about the 16th or March 1642

<To the 10th> The deponent saith that the said John Cullin had a father by Name Richard Cullin, with whom the said John kept, & by whom hee was mayntayned & cherished as a sonne the deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was at the howse of the said Richard shortly after the fight of Ballibegg & seauerall times sithence & did see the said John dwelling with and Releiued by his said father: And the deponent further saith that the said Richard had another son by Name William Cullyn <d> who dwelt in Wexford where the said William was in Armes & was eyther killed or drowned at the storming thereof of Wexford being that the said William was neuer sithence heard of & further cannot depose &c
