James Grant of Maglasse deposeth Concerning the within said Richard Wadding that this examinant liued at Maglasse in the beginning of the late rebellyon, & that about the first whitsontide after the warre brake forth, the deponent was Comanded by the said Richard Wadding to goe to the howse and Castle of Mr Nicholas Codd a protestant then fled where the examinant was Armed by the said Richard & William Esmond of Johnstowne & Left there as one of the guard with others, as Namely Richard Hore, Richard Wadding Thomas Richard Hore Thomas ffurlong seruants & cottyers to the said Richard Wadding except the said ffurlong all which were Likewise Armed by the said Wadding & Esmond: And that there were then & there present & Armed as aforesaid foure men bellonging to the said Esmond namely Robert Esmond, son & John Lewes son in law to the said William <h> Esmond, John Jepsey, & William Redmond, the said John Jepsey being seruant to the said William at that time: And that the said examinant Continued onely three weekes there but that the rest of the ward made their abode there till after Lamas following & during the deponents staying there, he & the rest had their victualls of William Codd then dwelling in the said Nicholas Codds howse: but the examinant was not present when the said Wadding & Esmond forced into the said howse at Castletowne but came soone after & further saith not &c
