The Examinacion of Peter Hooper of Passage in the County of Waterford gent taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Walter Whitty of Dungulp in the County Wexford gent deceased
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant Deposeth & saith that the said Walter dwelt in the County of Wexford in the Irish quarters the whole time of the rebellyon & did not thence remooue into the english quarters as his neighbours Nicholas <o> Loftus esquire the Lady Colclough & other protestants thereabouts did His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was acquainted with the said Walter before the rebellyon & was against his howse after the same brake forth
<To the 2d interr> Hee Cannot depose.
<To the 3d & 4th> The deponent saith that the said Walter did Contribute his owne person & Maintaned six men in Armes or thereabouts for opposing the english & keeping the said Whittyes howse as a guarrisson to that purpose, And further the examinant saith that about Easter after the rebellyon Brake forth a partie of the english issued from the said forte; to Dungulph the howse of the <p> said Walter Whitty where the said Whitty & his seruants in Armes [ ] made seauerall shots against the english & wounded Killed one of them by Name Richard Boone who was Brought home to the forte dead & suddenly after dyed of the shot there & then receiued And the examinant further saith that in the seacond yeare of the said rebellyon the examinant was in Company of A party of english that went (Among other places) to Dungulph aforesaid whereinto they were not onely denyed entrance but had seauerall shots made against them by the people of the said Whittyes howse <then> in Armes & further cannot depose
